Frequently Asked Questions

These are the most frequently asked questions. Please contact us if you need more information than can be found here.

Q1: What guarantees do I have that you won't break commercial confidence?

A: Please see the first clause in our Terms and Conditions. In addition we will sign any reasonable non-disclosure agreement. Given the nature of our business we have no interest whatsoever in gaining a reputation for commercial indescretion!

Q2: Do I get a certificate from this programme?

A: Yes. We provide a certificate of completion. We can also support you through gaining certification from ISEB, IIBA or any other accrediting organisation.

Q3: Do I have to use your templates for documenting my analysis?

A: No - but you do have to present the required information for each module in an easily accessible format. If you are using a particular method, approach, CASE tool, have certain corporate standards then by all means use those, so long as the information that you are required to produce for each module is readily apparent we don't mind how it is documented. We are interested in content, not style or notation or format.

Q4: I am using a particular method or approach - can I continue to use that?

A: Yes, but bear in mind you do have to present the required information for each module in an easily accessible format. If you are using a particular method, approach, CASE tool, have certain corporate standards then by all means use those, so long as the information that you are required to produce for each module is readily apparent we don't mind how it is documented. We are interested in content, not style or notation or format.

Q5: How do I know that your programme will work with the method or approach that I use - e.g. Agile, UML, Six Sigma, RUP?

A: All methods and approaches for doing change requirements analysis must cover the same ground of changes to process and data, and a way for ensuring that the changes are beneficial. The reason for this is that any change can only be a change to process and data - there is nothing else to change within the scope of a Business Analyst! The programme simply documents provable analysis of changes to process and data. Your mentor will advise you how your particular method or approach maps to the programme. There is more on this subject here.

Q6: How do I know you are any good?

A: Look at samples of work we have done - look at articles we have written - review our testimonials - contact us to discuss any existing issues you have - view the introduction and only when you are convinced sign-up. And you can cancel at any time…

Q7: What if I think you are rubbish?

A: Firstly, for any modules you have not completed you can get your money back. No questions asked. See our Terms and Conditions. Secondly, we welcome all feedback positive and negative - what doesn't kill us makes us stronger!
